This play is fun and fast-moving and has a strong environmental theme, combined with scientific information. The play allows some pupils to act as fairy folk, whilst others can choose from a wide variety of roles: including that of Science Professors. There are several suggested small songs for performance during the play. There is a wide variety of roles for pupils of different ability levels. This play is suitable for performance by pupils in Year 1 and Year 2. The maximum number of child participants required is 33; the minimum number required is 24. There is a role on stage for the class teacher, in order to assist with narration and the direction of pupils on stage if need be. There is one recommended role for a boy and five recommended roles for girls. The run-time for the play is 15 minutes. 13 pages including notes for staging, props, costumes and music suggestions.
